WAR... what is it good for?

... absolutely everything, well, ONLY in the following two cases. For those of you who haven't checked your emails lately, Brad sent out a blast about EMI partnering up with the WAR CHILD organization. War Child just released an album compilation, "HEROES," this past Tuesday to benefit the children who've grown up in war zones. It features covers by Lily Allen, Hot Chip, The Kooks, and other hot artists hand picked by the legends (Stevie Wonder, etc) themselves, so check it out at myspace.com/warchildheroes.

As for you gaming / Sick Puppies fans, you'll be pleased to know Cheli put up an online project to promote their song "WAR" which is featured on the trailer of the new Street Fighter IV game. There are lots of classics being revamped these days!

Letoya dropped by the office yesterday, and we were all really stoked to meet her. It looks like she has some new tunes coming out so you guys will be working with her soon. She was way down to earth, so I think you guys will love what she has to offer.

Also, sign up for the Empire Of The Sun and Green River Ordinance projects. Empire of the Sun is quite the talented duo, and their video for "Walking On A Dream" is something you don't want to miss out on! As for GRO, they really seem to be a hit with everyone, so thank you to all of the teamers who've gone to their shows without even knowing much about them. Keep an eye out because they have many new dates being added, and if you do go, make sure to say "Hi" to the band. They love meeting you all!

So I guess that's a long enough essay for now :-). Have a freaky, fantastic, fried, fun-filled, fine, fancy, friendly, ferocious, funny FRIDAY and a wicked weekend!

We <3 Roscoe's!

The rain finally stopped this morning, but who knows how long it will last. Can't really complain much about the weather here, but it's definitely unusual for Southern California. It's not the rain that I don't like (I'm not originally from here), it's the traffic it creates on the freeways. Traffic here is already torture, but when your commute goes frome 45 minutes to 2 hours, it's definitely something to get worked up about.

So far, the day is off to a great start: there's talk about going to SXSW, tons of new projects and artists coming down the pike, everyone had a great long weekend, and Keith revealed his hidden talent of voice impressions. Mark is in stitches over his impression of his mother. If only you guys could be here to hear it!

p.s. We ended up getting Roscoe's on Friday and it was HEAVENLY!!! So much chicken, waffles, and cornbread...Snoop would be proud!

TGI Friday the Thirteenth

... or maybe not. We're sitting in the office waiting for something to go horribly wrong. So far so good. There haven't been any black cats in our paths but we're only halfway through the day. "Wonderall" is currently blasting out of the speakers so we're all feeling good and planning our adventure to Roscoe's: chicken, waffles, sweeeeeeet potatoe pie! Mmm, and on top of that, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is stopping by at 5PM for a LIVE chat! So be sure to tune in and have them answer any questions you might have.

And since we won't be in tomorrow, have a great Valentine's Day or celebrate SAD (single awareness day)!

MAJOR UPDATE!!! Roscoe's have denied our call-in order... curse! The 13th is just beginning. We're going to go scramble for alternative plans and devious ways to conquer the chicken place :-( We hope you all have better luck today!

TGIF! New stuff is amazing

TGIF!

It's raining so much here, and as the clouds/mist creep down, the Hollywood Tower (of terror, yes, it's real) is looking creepier by the second haha. So last night was the launch of CSTV, and to celebrate we had the guys from Varsity Fanclub stop by. Thanks to everyone who made it such a success. Over 600 of you partied it up in there. Get ready for more CSTV exclusives. A little birdie told me that Red Jumpsuit Apparatus might be dropping in next.

We've also got some exciting releases headed our way! Lily Allen, The Decembrists, Trouble Andrew.. everything's looking great this year! Brad is completely stoked about the new Decembrists, and the new RJA album is also in stores now so be sure to pick that up! We still have over 2000 Lily Allen Valentine's Day lollipops, and Mark can't seem to keep his hands off of them. I think we've retired the button-maker for now. But if you ever get the chance to make buttons, definitely do not pass it up. It's an instant win in the arm wrestling department.

And for those of you out of the loop, it's GRAMMY weekend. Tune in to watch Katy Perry perform and see which Capitol artists take home the goods. Coldplay's up for 7 nominations :-).

OH! And for all you teamers in the LA area, be sure to catch VFC's free show THIS MONDAY. RSVP at varsityfanclub.rsvp@gmail.com. We want to see your faces there!

Have a great weekend, and keeping posting those banners / lifestyles. You rock!
