WHAT A WEEK!!!

WRONG! haha. Were you guys able to catch Depeche Mode on Jimmy Kimmel last Thursday? It was absolute insanity in Hollywood next to the Capitol tower. Streets were closed off for 3 days for cleanup and setup, and on Thursday, fans started lining up earlier than the rooster crows. By noon, thousands already filled the streets. Here's a behind the scenes look at the setup.

Here's our view. Front and stage right.

Keith and Brad handled the guest list for all the EMI employees. Security was tighter than wearing a speedo, and it took fans hours just to get inside. Betsy and Grace couldn't even get in to hand out Depeche posters to the crowd. The rumor was someone posted a picture of their VIP pass on facebook the day before and so security expected fake copies and all passess had to be remade differently and redistributed within a couple of hours. Things were running a muck but at the end of the day the show was nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!!!

Here's Jimmy Kimmel dead center introducing the show (little black blob that's taller than everyone haha)

The scene was so surreal after it was over. Lights shining bright and thousansd of people walking through the street parting ways. Mark, Betsy, Pejman, and Grace got into the afterparty for the W apartments which sponsored the event. And those are pretty much the highlights haha. Wish you all could've been there.

The madness didn't stop there though. We spent all Sunday at the Avalon working for the 30 Second to Mars "Summit 2009." Nearly 600 fans flew from all over the world (Finland, Australia, France, Luxembourg, the UK and even more!!!!) They lined up at 8am and the event didn't even start until 2PM. Everyone helped the band record certain parts of songs. I'd say more but I'd probably get killed haha. We got to hear rough snippets of the new album. It was the coolest experience ever, and their album will definitely PWN! Jared and Shannon were on hand to sing and direct the room, and even did an improptu acoustic performance at the end. FYI, Jared has dirty blonde hair now haha. It looked good.

Last shout outs, check out our new artists, Adelita's Way, and Priscilla Renea. Adelita's heading out on the road soon so hit up their street team page for tour dates and let Mark (mark.moreno@capitolmusic.com) know if you want to cover a show. Also, we have a new intern, Elena. So if you get a phone call from a French girl, that's her! haha.

Phew that was a lot to take in haha. I apologize for the length but AH crazy times don't stop here.

DEPECHE MODE's OUT!!!

It's official, like a referee whistle!!!

Today is D-Day.. in a good way. Depeche Mode's album is finally in-stores so go run out and pickup a copy today! There's also way sick BOX SETS with vinyl, posters, and more. It's the ultimate Depeche set you could ever want.

In celebration of the release, we've all been organizing album release/listening parties for the new album. Thanks to everyone who's volunteered to host a party. The turnouts were amazing!

Cheli and Betsy's throwing a party tonight, and for all you Orange County teamers, be sure to come out to the Crosby in Santa Ana on Wednesday for your chance to party with Cheli and I and win an exclusive box set.

Tune into JIMMY KIMMEL on THURSDAY for Depeche Mode's massive performance. We will be shutting down Hollywood Blvd. between Gower and Vine starting Wednesday... just to set up! It's going to be insane, and so far there's going to be at least 10,000 fans dancing in the street in front of the Capitol Tower as DM takse the stage.

Also, there's a ton of new GREEN RIVER ORDINANCE tour dates. Did you guys hear them on the Hills last night? They're song "Outside" was featured during the episode. Catch it online if you have to.. better yet, just buy the whole album haha. =)

We're off to lunch and to plaster Hollywood with massive Depeche Mode posters. Wish us luck!

CST Conquered Coachella!

Hey Party People!

Pejman, Mark and I just got back from Coachella and we are exhausted. We had a great time seeing The Cure, Morrissey, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and of course Paul McCartney...living the dream! Did anyone who went to Coachella see the Depeche Mode plane flying overhead during The Cure and The Killers set? So cool!

We had a blast hanging out with Ashley and sniping the streets of Indio and Coachella. I definitely won't miss the insane allergies triggered the nearby horse stables or the 30 minute walk from the car to the venue (not to mention the dirt that was tracked inside my car, ugh). Can't complain about the new tan or the weather though; two years ago we were roasting at 100+ degrees every day.

Another festival done. Now to get ready for Warped Tour 09!

Rock steady,
Cheli

Score, we made it to 10!

Whoa! It's hard to believe this is the 10th post. For some reason it feels like the 50th haha.

MIMS!! Everyday here at the office someone yells that at least twice. I've only been here 10 minutes, and the count's at four.. oh wait, make that five. He's not even in the building today, at least I don't think so haha. We got a box of like 500 yellow MIMS "number one" big foam fingers to promote his release. They're so much fun to battle with.

Last night was the big Lily Allen show here in LA. When 5 o' clock came, Betsy and Keith stormed out of here. The Capitol tower and the parking looked abandoned, but Lily rocked the Wiltern fo sho. We gave the Avalon club across the street a ton of those yummy heart shaped Lilypops from Valentines. Mark's still sucking down about one-a-day haha.

Tomorrow the huge Bamboozle Left fest is going on, and Mark of the Beast and G-rawk It Out are going to plaster the town with Trouble and Saosin goodies. It's the first time we get to see Trouble perform so we're stoked to finally let some crunk out of our system. It marks the beginning of his tour so be sure to check out the dates and support the flow. Troubz and Sao are performing with 50 cent, the Deftones, Taking Back Sunday and the like. So huge!

All of us are working on promoting a majorly top secret LA show. Brad's spearheading this covert-op(eration), and all i can say is it'll be all you ever wanted ;) So if you're in the area, keep an eye out for lifestyle posters for a certain band. They should be all over town as the date comes closer. And as usual, check the new online projects. The EMPIRE OF THE SUN online project is looking pretty lonely and could use some friends. Spread the seeds!

That's all folks ;-). Have a great weekend, and thanks for all your help!!
