In Search of Solid Ground...

Because California is UP IN FLAMES! The air quality is horrible here, but it's fun watching the big cloud of smoke morph.. it looked like Donkey Kong at one point today. We've got a new artist that you'll be introduced to soon! She's sure to blow-up!

Check out LOLENE'S blog (http://lolenemusic.blogspot.com/) to read her "awkward pop rants" and MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/lolene) to hear her single "Sexy People."

Tons of new projects are being made available so keep checking back. A Fine Frenzy, MFH, Sick Puppies, Alice in Chains, Green River Ordinance ($50 Gift Card!) are all launched and awaiting your recaps. These prizes are begging to fly to your front door.

As promised, the video of SaAlmost (saosin+almost) from the last Warped Tour date is up and running. Observe their camera-genicness and listen to their words of advice cough:signupfornewprojects:cough. The Sao guys are really stoked about their upcoming release for "In Search of Solid Ground." Say it with me now, Sep-tem-berrrrrr 8! Nearly one week from seeing this in-stores

Katy Perry rocked the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday night! Cheli and Grace spotted many KP lookalikes which we dubbed as kittens :) The show, put on by Coca-Cola's Sounds of Buzz, was a star-studded event with the likes of 90210's Tristan Wilds, Greek's Kelly Stables, Disney's Selena Gomez, Aly & AJ of 78violet, iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, Ryan Cabrera, Benji and Joel Madden and much much more showing up to shake the glitter! The Bird and the Bee did an excellent job opening up the show. Keith spotted Kim Kardashian on the way out and according to her twitter, she and Ciara got pulled over by a cop on their way to the show haha. Luckily for you, Sounds of Buzz taped the whole performance so be sure to check all the photos and videos galore by clicking here:

Not only did she nail every song off of the "One of the Boys" album, she also killed her renditions of "Mr. Postman," Fountains of Wayne's "Hackensack," and The Foundations "Build Me Up Buttercup." The street team was really hoping for a cover of Saosin's "Voices" haha but she delivered better than that. Pink confetti rained down on the crowd and at one point, she brought up a fan that "looked like a cat" to dance and even smash a guitar on stage with her.. which the lucky girl got to keep.

Now that the tour's officially over, she'll be heading back in to the studio to record her second album and all I can say is... it's about time!

Monday, Monday, Happy Days!

Happy Mondizzle street teamers!

We had a slew of shows all week. This street team's going full-steam ahead this Fall. Kristina Train paid a visit to the tower before her show at Hotel Cafe last Wednesday night. She did an amazing job.. so full of soul and power in her voice.

That night Cheli and I saw My Favorite Highway in Anaheim and held an exclusive Street Team Meet & Greet before the show at a place called "Off The Chain." I feel like that phrase needs a temporary comeback. Cheli's been taking a lot of video footage of all our artists so stay tuned for behind the scene looks, random awkward moments, and shout-outs filmed just for you!

Yesterday marked the very last day of Warped Tour 2009. Word has it, Cove from Saosin performed barefoot and was hopping around since the stage was on fire and burning from the sun. Hopefully everyone's clean and wearing shoes today when Mark and Cheli hit up Saosin's Music Video Shoot for "Changing" later this afternoon. Kristy was safely put on a plane and shipped off to Texas.. though she may be laying over in Phoenix right now and the Batch is back in Cheli's rad garage. She's finally going to sleep in a real bed, and actual fully shower for the first time since like... June. Oh how summer's come and gone.

Also, Keith brought in a coffee cake straight from Martha's Vineyard.. same goodies provided to the Obama camp. Apparently they only sell them in full sheets worth $250 so he currently has 13THIRTEEN pounds of Presidential cake at his house and secretly making this whole office bigger, sweeter, and completely wired. Ultimate brainstorming will come from this loaf of happiness -->

Ok, that was a sweet-tooth tangent! Back to the music, Hockey's show at the Troubadour with JC Penny was a hit! The house was pretty full, and now they're heading back to Europe. Be sure to check out their music video for "Song Away" on MySpace Music. The girl from Paper Heart and Knocked Up makes a special cameo.. pretty fun dance party if you ask me. Here's a look from the side of the stage, practically standing on it...

Brad worked the ALICE IN CHAINS show in Pomona, and on Saturday we're hitting up the Katy Perry show at the Hollywood Palladium. We heard she did a terrific job at VFest over the weekend, and absolutely killed it with her set. Taylor Swift posted a cute TwitPic of them backstage that you can find here:
'
and we might be cranking out the button machine again this week to prep for the weekend. I'm slowly getting my shoulder stretched out because it is definitely an intense arm workout. If you want biceps and excellent hand-eye coordination I recommend you get a button machine and crank 'em out.

I Ain't a Princess, This Ain't a Tower.. wait, it is...

Ladies and gents! How was your weekend?!

Ours was soooo great.. well, last night was at least. All the knights and rapunzels of the tower made their way to the Hollywood Bowl for the Depeche Mode concert now that their lead is back in good health. Before I get to the goods I'd like to make a shout out to our new comprades (friends) Hayden Panettiere and Chris Kattan who we bumped into at dinner. The street team had a star-studded evening at the El Compadre restaurant with listers of every grade. Everyone was separated into different boxes, but basically the night involved a lot of dancing, and surprisingly from Brad's end. Word on the street is there was some butterfly floating dance action going on, and Pejman had a little one-on-one dance off with a security guard. Cheli got hit on by some creepster, but hey, this is Hollyweird. She sent him off to an "after party" at Les Deux while using Mark as a goalie from 50 feet away haha.

The end of the summer is coming and with that comes the end of Warped Tour. We're all super excited for Kristy's return to Cali.. she'll probably have her first proper shower or soak it up bubble bath style for a day to wash off that warped dirt. She hasn't been feeling too well so make sure to send her some Twitter love @capstreetteam. I'm sure she had a great time with Saosin and our lovely red tent. Speaking of Saosin, the album is dropping really soon! SEPTEMBER 8! Save the Date! In Search of Solid Gold is sure to be a hit.

And if you're searching for some gold, sign up for the new Priscilla project to win a pair of awesome shiny gold Converse Chucks. Pave your own yellow brick road with these bad boys. They just scream "I ain't a doll!" JP's been chilling with Priscilla Renea out in the New York EMI offices today. I don't think any of us have ever seen him in a happier state of mind.

Lastly, HOCKEY is performing a show at the Troubadour THIS THURSDAY (8/20). It's a huge event called Front Row put on by JC Penney so come on down and get FREE FOOD and FREE SWAG. You can't turn that down, seriously. Sign-up here if you're interested http://www.1iota.com/events,4294,JCPenney-Front-Row-feat.-HOCKEY-(Los-Angeles,-CA).html or just go crash the party haha. First 100 people in the door get a JC Penney Back to School gift card, clothes, & more!!

Roadie Fun

So the street team's been travelling like mad lately...

Today's Mark and I's first day back in the office since our Vegas and Lollapalooza trips. To call them insane is an absolute understatement.

My Favorite Highway killed it on the last night of The Cab's "What Happens In Vegas" tour. They were the first to go on, and were swarmed at the merch booth by the end of the show. Everyone was jumping, clapping, and fully into every show of the act. The House of Blues in Vegas is BY FAR the best HoB I've ever been to... massive (with nice employees too haha). The pit was a neverending dance floor and the top level had arena like seats. If you've never gone, make a roadtrip just for kicks. I was lucky enough to watch from the back/side of the stage and sneak some pics with my camera phone. Kids' faces said it all especially whe AlexD from the Cab came out to sing the bridge of "Say So" with our boys.

I ate at AGO restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel... BEST PASTA I HAVE EVER TASTED!! There were exhibits all over the place and one was the wallpaper and outfits from the old OKGO music video --

On the way back my friends and I got a flat tire in Barstow... To you kids living out there, what's there to do in your town?! We spent hours upon hours at the largest In N Out I known to man haha. If you drive by, get off the freeway at Lenwood but miles of desert and heat was all we saw.

Mark had a siiiiiick time in Chicago. Aside from the hotel drama where he basically got locked out and had his credit card info possibly tampered with .. perfect location but everyone staying there had their own horror stories. Not only did they lock him out, but he had to run up to his room on the 12th floor via STAIRS all day and night. Also, he THINKS his hotel was on fire.. rumors swirling 'round but no one knows for sure. He saw firetrucks, and firemen taking pictures with girls, and massive amount of water dropping from the 3rd floor and up!

Follow him on twitter ;) [@markofthebeast] clever name right?

....something shady going on throughout Lolla but the festival itself was epic! He said Depeche Mode was freaking amazing, and he was so glad to see David Gahn back in good health. One of his favorite bands, Passion Pit, played too so he did his happy dance all throughout their set. Him and one of our teamers Geno absolutely killed the promo. Waking up at 9am and working til midnight every day.. such troopers! Music festivals are always the best experiences. We live for events like this.. live music all day, sea of people everywhere you look united by the melodies and lyrics. Thousands of people tied together for a great event.. it's truly an amazing sight.

Check out how crazy the scene was.. click on the pic to view more

BEN HARPER

The DECEMBERISTS

All the bands did amazing. Couldn't ask for a better line-up :) Priscilla Renea had a pretty good showing and I guess all Capitol artists require crazy outifts since she was in a tutu and gold shoes.. sounds pretty sweet. "Dollhouse" is going to be a hit!

Next up, Pejman is heading to Dallas for one of Hockey's secret shows... though I'm not so sure how secret it is with it being on their MySpace haha. He did catch an ultrasecret show for JOHN MAYER on Sunday night at the Troub.. he played with a full band.. twitter is such an amazing thing for artists to have and do spontaneous shows whenever.. keepin it real fo sho!

Back to Hockey, they're doing a few shows in LA (the Troubadour / Echo) so make sure to check those out if you're in the area because the band's touring Europe til October.. don't miss out!

You'll hear alllll about Pej's adventures next week :)

SHAKE-SHAKE-SHAKE THE GLITTER!

Waddup teamers?!

Long time no story time. That was an awkward sentence, but we'll keep on trucking...

Last night Mark and I saw Katy Perry open for No Doubt in Irvine. She was phenomenal! There were giant inflatable strawberries and grapes and random flamingos throughout the stage. She even busted out an inflatable lipstick for "I Kissed A Girl" and proceeded to trash it down at the ground for the finale as if it were some hardcore-thrashin' guitar. Funny, awesome, and perfect! There was like a huge pink glow/orb around the stage that just lured you in and put you in a Katy daze. It was the best I have ever seen her. Gwen Stefani was epic too, naturally. Her high kicks were ABOVE HER HEAD.. totally insane. It must be because of her freakishly rock hard abs.

Katy, No Doubt, and The Sounds ended the night with a crazy duet? triet? trio? ehh you know what I mean.. of "Stand and Deliver." Check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XenxPu5hyog

Everyone's hitting the road this weekend. Marky Mark is off to LollapaloOoOoOoza. He's gonna paint the town for Ben Harper, Depeche Mode, Bat For Lashes, and Hockey and then some with his two street team Gs. When I asked him which band he was most excited to see he replied with "I LIKE TURTLES." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y) reference ;)

I'm off to Vegas for My Favorite Highway. It's the end of the "What Happens In Vegas" tour with the Cab.. sure to be a gooooood time. I'll report back with pictures pronto.

Right now the PR department is blasting Priscilla Renea's album... freaking amazing! I didn't expect it to be so poppy yet soooo SOULfull. It's a JUKEBOX, baby! The 10th floor's got the disco ball burning bright! These mixes are hot, so you've been warned! I think "LoveSick" is my favorite. Girls, her tunage will for sure be your newest life anthem.

I guess that's all I can think of for now. Be sure to stay tuned to our crazy tweets this weekend and kick some +++ at your shows, lifestyles, and what nots. PS - Cheli and I rewrote the lyrics to "Bennie and The Jets" for our batch Kristy so we challenge you to rewrite a song about the street team. Anyone who takes this upon their shoulders will get a really sick prize, scouts honor.

I'll leave you on that note. Have a great week roadies and dont' forget to shake the glitter!
